How to use mySimpleAds to display ads in a specific website I run.
Hi.
I have a website at http://www.emailcouponclub.com/ I want to use mySimpleAds to control how and where ads are placed. This website allows people to search by zip code (which will then return a list of categories that offer coupons in their area), and then the user can select a category to see a list of the businesses in that area that are offering coupons, and then .. they can click on an individual businesses listing to see the coupons offered by the selected business. I want to know how I can place the banner ads, so they will appear .. based upon the specific search or selection criteria that the user performed. Meaning, if they enter a zip code, I want to know if I can display banner ads, based upon either a match of the first 3 or 4 numbers in the zip code (that the user entered, which is returned in the URL string) or even an exact match, ... and/or ... then again based upon the zip code match .. which category the user might look at. Here's an example URL string, after a user enters 08085 for their desired zip code area that they want to look in (and within a distance of 50 miles around that zip code, plus, after they select "Restaurants and Food" and then "Italian" .. which is equivalent to category 55. http://www.emailcouponclub.com/directory...ategory=55 Then, also when the user actually clicks to see the coupons on a particular advertisers page, the URL looks like this: http://www.emailcouponclub.com/directory...4442439045 So the category is 55 and the ID is 5 I want to know how I can create groups in mySimpleAds for each area, and then place the advertisements accordingly. Can you help? Gary |

RE: How to use mySimpleAds to display ads in a specific website I run.
I think the closest you could get is to use keyword based ads. You specify the zip code as a keyword. You would then still need some custom coding in your results page to call the mysimpleads ad code with that keyword from the GET/POST request.

RE: How to use mySimpleAds to display ads in a specific website I run.
Matt,
1. Do you think, at any point in the near future, there might be a way to have more than one keyword .. so I could have it look for the zip code PLUS look for something else, like the ID, etc., and maybe just several different combinations? This way I could have some ads displayed on all pages that would include a certain zip code (or part of a zip code), and other ads displayed when the zip code (or part of a zip code) is included in the URL, AND .. when it also includes the ID number in the URL??? (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.) What do you think? 2. Can you provide me with the code necessary (and so I can modify it as needed), so I can put it into a template file within my website? Let me know if you can, and if there would be any cost for this code? Thanks, Gary |
