Impressions

Hi, quick question relating to impressions.

I've had the mySimpleAds script installed for about 2 hours. i've added javascript code to a couple of pages on our site and all seems to be going ok.. One query i have is relating to the overall impressions showing for today and for Life.

in the mian admin section i see impressions are showing as follows



impressions ( Today ) 13
Impressions (Life ) 24

why are these different if the script has been only running for 2 hours? Shouldn't life and today be the same if it's fresh a install today?

Did you refresh the impressions from today (you can do so in the Stats tab) ?

i did a manual compile if that's what you mean by refresh. Then i returned to ad's and there are differences in the today & life stas still.. am i missing something?

No, sorry your not, the stats module, which is where Today's impressions come from does try to filter out some of the immediate duplicate impressions.

ok, so the difference is the dupe impressions then? im just trying to understand why the number are different on same day

Go to the page with the ad in it, hit refresh like 10 times, then compile the stats manually. The lifetime impressions should go up by 10.

hi Matt, i just did a fresh install. wanted to start from scratch to test again.

I had all ad's disabled. Uploaded code to all pages on site, then activated code. I waited for about 20 mins then did manual compile. Noticed again that Todays impressions were at 2 and life time are at 16 hmm? why is LIFETIME displaying a different number than TODAY. Aplogies if i'm missing the point here, but i do not understand why we see 2 different stats when the script/code was installed/activated within an hour.

is "today" showing unique impressions and "Lifetime" all impressions, including bots etc..maybe this is the reason for the difference?

What happens if you just put the ad on an empty page and then refresh it a few times. Do they match up?
